this is the week that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends...

oh goodness. I'm ten days behind. but to be fair, we've had a friend from Portland in town visiting and I wanted to give him our undivided attention on our free days... So nice seeing you, Logan. :)

free days. those don't happen much. Jaydan is in full swing football mode and is finally healed from all his minor injuries. he also started his super fun summer school class this week...it's like managing information systems or something? sounds pretty boring, if you ask me.

I'm nannying for a family with two girls ages 4 and 1. it's been great but it's also taken most of my energy. the same family offered me another job working in their office doing medical records............ which I've done before, and hated. but we'll see.

outside of that, we're loving the new house and loving having our precious puppers finally living with us. her days pretty much include: sleeping, the dog park, and ice cream. she doesn't hate it.

so, this hundred days thing... is a hard thing to accomplish. every. single. day. minor adjustments need to be made so I can actually enjoy the things I do for my husband. so I've changed it to at least 3 times a week I'll mark something off my list of sweet things to do--this also makes it last longer, yay!

this past week:

Hawaii Night-

this was my attempt at giving our backyard a resort type feel, haha.
all you really need are some beach chairs/loungers and some beach like decor. I got all of mine at the dollar tree for less than $10! I bought: a couple blow up palm trees, a beach ball, some fun straws and umbrellas, and flower lays of course.
then I made some yummy strawberry daiquiris and cut up some pineapple.

I used this daiquiri recipe:

6 cups ice
1/2 cup white sugar
4 ounces frozen strawberries
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 lime juice (normally you would use 1/4 cup sprite here, but Jaydan has been on a strict no pop diet for the last billion years)
and 3/4 cup rum (if you want to add alcohol)

just throw it in the blender and blend until smooth!

...this was basically just an excuse for me to lay out ;)

outdoor movie night-

for this you'll need:
a projector (I bought on sale at kohl's)
a dvd player to plug it in to
a big bed sheet
lots of snacks! (again a dollar store is perfect for candy & popcorn)
and bug spray.

put up your sheet somewhere in your backyard on a relatively smooth surface. hold it down with some tacks or duct tape. set up your projector on a chair and lay out some sleeping bags. invite your friends and tell them to bring movies so you have lots of options.

=makeshift drive-in :) definitely worth doing again.

simple sweet thoughts:

one day I just picked up some yummy cupcakes from a place Jaydan talked about trying every time we drove by.

I mean, who doesn't love a good cupcake? :)

well, thats it for this week! As soon as I find my camera cord I'll have better pictures of all these happenings. we're headed to wichita for the weekend and if you're there, we want to see your face!

by the way, I'm wearing the smile you gave me...

and we're back! and keeping our promise to start blogging more than once a month. in fact, you'll probably get more of us than you can really handle...

because, I have decided to do one nice thing for my wonderful husband Jaydan (omgosh so fun to say) every day for the next one hundred days. and hopefully continue on after that as well, but the next one hundred days are a guarantee as I have had them planned well before the wedding even happened. (Prep for fighting off that post wedding depression I've heard so much about, haha.) Some ideas are fairly simple, others actually take some time and effort. but all show how much I care about his happiness. hopefully, you as readers will be able to use some of these ideas to make your own love grow stronger as well :)

so,

day 1:

(I printed this out and posted it on our front door when he got home from his team workout.)

I borrowed this idea from a website I stumbled upon a few months back and just tweaked it a bit here and there. and Jaydan loved it! guys actually like to be pampered too ladies (especially if they just got done with their first workot of the season and managed to fall down and pull a muscle in their foot while running stadiums. ugh.)

step 1: I made the spare bathroom into his changing room. I put a pair of comfy slippers in there and layed out a snuggie fresh out of the drier.

step 2: "dinner in the oasis" aka our dining room. Just a simple pasta dish and some candles.

step 3: I showed him to the living room which worked as a makeshift waiting room by simply laying out some magazines and throwing some pretzels in a bowl.

step 4: all I did here was place some lavender candles around the tub and played some relaxing music. here are some of the products I chose to use:

target. $5.99.

bath & body works. $18 (I had this before hand.)

I also made some chocolate covered strawberries with our new fondue kit and put them next to the tub. probably his favorite part...ha.

step 5: pretty much speaks for itself. I moved our outdoor lounge bed into his man cave and threw a blanket over it. then just lit some candles and had the relaxing music again. simple! I used:
honey massage gel from victoria secret. (given to me by some of my beautiful friends at my bachelorette party.)

and that's all it took to turn our home into a relaxing spa! and I didn't have to spend more than $10! :)

I think tomorrow we'll be going to Hawaii.....

this blog has been neglected...

we have no excuse. oh well, besides that we're getting married in like two days and things have been crazy busy and hectic. after we return from our honeymoon we promise you the blogging will be more consistent.

first off, we want to congratulate my precious twin Bradley on his engagement to our new little sister Sydney!!! we love you guys and support you. we are here to help out with your new journey in any way we can. (we can also give you like 20 different pre-marriage books to read, exciting eh?)

I am so ready for this wedding to happen you guys. I feel like I've been staring at the weather channel for like a month straight now and I've finally excepted that it is probably going to rain. and we will end up getting married in our not so pretty church. (they say it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day anyways, right?) but honestly, it's not about the wedding, it's about the commitment and the rest of our lives together. so it's really okay. it won't rain on my parade. plus I get to go on a super awesome honeymoon afterwards, so no complaints here.

through the process of planning and getting things done for this wedding I have realized how lucky I am to have so many great people in my life. I can't thank my family and friends enough, especially my family. what champs. It means the absolute world to me and this wedding wouldn't be possible without you. I love you all. unfortunately, Jaydan and I both found that wedding planning can also make you realize that the people you thought would be there the most, are pretty much nonexistent. and although that definitely hurt us at times, it's okay. we could not be any happier or any more blessed.

I absolutely cannot wait to marry my best friend. and I cannot wait to see you all there.

fourteen.

fourteen days.
it's getting down to the wire. and we're ready. well, for the important part at least.

we've read all the building successful marriage books, completed premarital counseling, and done all the things engaged couples are expected to do. but I was ready to marry Jaydan before all this. I know his dreams, his quirks, his relationship with God, his talents, his downfalls, his ever-changing moods and his big sweet heart. I know who I'm marrying. yet, every day someone comes up with the creative question "are you ready?" or the clever statement of "you're so young." hey, thanks, I had no idea I was only twenty-one years old, I guess I better rethink this. I've come to the conclusion that I can't spend time trying to convince others of what we have, all that really matters is that we know what we have. we're the lucky ones.

outside of that, every thing else is pretty much ready too. except for the music, which to me is pretty important, not so much to Jaydan. I wanted the whole string quartet outside type vibe which is what we're going with. only issue there is I'm not this huge classical music fan, I can't really name you anything outside of Bach, Mozart or Beethoven. I thought I found a beautiful solution when I found the Vitamin String Quartet because they play music from all across the board, but they don't release much of their sheet music. bummer. but I did get a few of them that I throughly enjoy. (which will remain a surprise until the wedding, dear friends) but we desperately need a recessional song and I just can't seem to find it. any suggestions? I want something that is just ridiculously happy, because that's what I'll be. (if you're in question about my music tastes just click the lovely cassette tape icon to your right-it's pretty much all there.)

in other news:

I caught Jaydan practicing his dance skills with petey the sock giraffe today. (rachel we love this thing!) his foot is healing up quite nicely and we have high hopes of it being completely healed come honeymoon time so he can fully enjoy the ocean. :)

it's prime finals time and I can feel all the stressed out souls walking the campus. chins up, we can do this!! if nothing else, be happy it's friday and we can pretend like it's not really happening while sporting floral mustaches.

4.5.11

I feel like I'm revisiting my middle school xanga days...

We've come to the conclusion that our lives are so awesome that other people probably want to read about it on a regular basis, and who are we to with hold all our awesomeness from the general public, right? therefore, we've decided to blog!

Ha. I'm totally kidding. We just thought it'd be a fun way to know what's going on in others lives and vice versa. So we'll give it a try.

In other news, today Jaydan and I did some yard work. It usually goes a little something like this:

Welcome to Oklahoma ya'll! We aerate our yards by putting some nails in some wood and attempting to strap said contraption to our feet. Works well, as you can see.

Disclaimer: This blog won't always be grammatically correct or full of emotion, we're a little too care free for that, so just go with it. It will be ridiculous and/or entertaining.
Also, I don't care if you don't like this busy layout. Because I do.
